Neil R McAdam

A speculative fiction story that spans nearly five thousand years of human development.

Apart from being a galaxy-spanning tale of survival, the novel explores our fractured relationship with nature, and the possibilities of fixing it. It questions whether faith hindered or assisted humanity, and will Artificial Intelligence be our saviour or destroyer?

About the author

Neil R McAdam

I’ve been based in Nairn in the highlands since 2009, living there with my wife Eileen, and son Odhran. We love it there, but although I was born in Dumfries in the Scottish borders, I consider myself from Ayr, where my formative years were spent. In fact, I grew up just a few hundred yards from the Alloway birthplace of Robert Burns, our greatest bard.

Maybe there was something in the water!

I often wrote daft poetry in the style of Burns every January 25th for Burns’ night, the second most important evening in the Scottish calendar!

I also played around with the guitar for years at one time having the ambition to start a band. This never really happened, though I wrote a few songs.

I am a fully paid-up member of the tartan army, and travel (when I can) to see them play at Hampden and abroad, most notably in France ’98 and the Euros in 2024 in Germany.

As an Honest Man, I also support Ayr United!

Old Ayr, which never a town surpasses,

For honest men and bonny lasses.
